Now Is The Time

The holiday season is fast approaching!

We at FOSNA look towards the end of the year ready for action and would be honored to have you join us in our plethora of activities to look forward to. Please join us in Preaching Palestine or even Visiting Palestine this Advent season. It is incredibly important in light of the current climate to show solidarity with Palestinians both at home and on the ground. For those of us unable to travel, we encourage you to save the date (December 11) for the upcoming film salon: “Come and See; Go and Tell—Next Year in Palestine,” which we are co-hosting with our friends at Voices from the Holy Land (VFHL).

We are also excited for GivingTuesday (November 29), an annual day of generosity to individuals and nonprofits the Tuesday after Thanksgiving established to counter the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Amazingly enough, this year GivingTuesday aligns with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People! Lastly, please stay tuned for our annual Christmas Appeal. As an independent nonprofit committed to grass-roots advocacy and action for justice in Palestine, we are entirely dependent upon the generosity of friends and supporters like you.

Thank you

Over 1,400 individuals across North America took action in support of Shadi Khoury, a 16-year-old kidnapped from his home in Beit Hanina in East Jerusalem by Israeli Occupation forces. Thanks to all of you, US Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Canadian MPs Leah Gazan and Matthew Green, and UK MP Layla Moran, have all spoken out in support of Shadi.

This week, we know Shadi has been moved to Damon Prison in Haifa for at least 11 days as his family awaits a verdict. We know at least 5 other children were arrested as part of the same operation as Shadi: Ali Tawil, Bassam Rajabi, Hamza Sub Laban, Ibrahim Sub Laban, and Khaled Abu Assab. The 6 of them have been beaten inside the prison, which Amnesty MENA is calling torture. Let's keep applying pressure in support of all children violently detained by Israel!

Preach Palestine 2022

Now Is the Time!

Friends of Sabeel North America is calling on Christian leaders across the U.S. to commit their congregations to Preach Palestine this Advent season.

Be it an entire service or a single prayer, we are asking you to once again Preach Palestine and lift up the Palestinian people such that they would come to experience the joy, justice, and peace of Christ's liberating reign, as a very real light in the present darkness.

Voices from the Holy Land Online Film Salon: "The Settlers"

Combining history and headlines, THE SETTLERS is the first comprehensive look at the sensitive issue of Israel's continued construction of settlements in the West Bank, which is at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Radicals, idealists, messianic fanatics, true believers and political opportunists, living on the fault lines of an age-old conflict, come face to face with history itself. Today, the settlers threaten to destroy what little peace remains in the Middle East.

Kumi Now! (Week 44) Anti-Muslim and Anti-Islamic Discrimination. November is Islamophobia Awareness Month, run by the Muslim Engagement and Development (MEND) non-profit in the United Kingdom. Kumi Now would like to bring the message of Islamophobia Awareness Month to a world audience. The constant slings and arrows inherent in the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory have all the markings of anti-Muslim and anti-Islamic discrimination. While not all Palestinians are Muslims, and the overwhelming majority of Muslims have never engaged in any kind of violence, the overarching view in Western media of Palestinians as Muslim terrorists has done nothing to build global support for the anti-colonial struggles of the Palestinians in a way that the world supported the struggles in Ireland, India, and South Africa. Here’s what you need to know about Islamophobia and what you can do so that together we can rise up.
