Communications and Campus Outreach Intern

Internship: Spring 2023 Semester

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 10 hours per week

Desired Candidate: College student (undergraduate, graduate, seminary) with a passion for peace and justice in Palestine, ready to connect to students nationwide, skilled with social media, and a talent for writing.

Description: Friends of Sabeel North America is seeking a Communications and Campus Outreach intern for the Spring semester! Gain meaningful experience in social media management and grassroots campus organizing with us for 10 hours per week this semester, fully remote! We will work with your college/university to provide you with course credits however you need.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Communications:

  • Helping manage and create social media content (including posts, videos, and graphics), with the Communications and Outreach Coordinator.

  • Assisting in assembling the weekly newsletter.

  • Finding and contacting press contacts for publishing press releases and op-eds.

Campus Outreach:

  • Building relationships with student groups on behalf of FOSNA.

  • Planning events (i.e. educational workshops, webinars, etc.) for students.

  • Compiling advocacy resources for student groups.

Miscellaneous:

  • Attending staff meetings via Google Hangouts.

  • Additional tasks related to administration, national organizing, development, or other area of need.

About us: Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA) is a trans-denominational Christian organization seeking justice and peace in the Holy Land through education, advocacy, and nonviolent action.

FOSNA promotes the vision of Sabeel Jerusalem, an ecumenical liberation theology movement founded by Palestinian Christians in the Holy Land, joining Friends of Sabeel chapters around the world. As a nonprofit organization in the United States, we amplify the voice of Palestinians by advocating in churches, communities, and governments for justice, peace, and liberation in Palestine.
