Support Our Students

Last night, students at Columbia University and CCNY were arrested en masse in huge swarms by the NYPD. Over 300+ nonviolent protesting students were arrested in encampment raids by thousands of fully armed officers in riot gear equipped with tear gas and flash grenades. The excessive force shown by administrators at Columbia, CCNY, and by the NYPD is beyond shameful. Our hearts go out to all the students starting their journey of healing physically and emotionally, and we applaud their bravery and steadfastness.

Similarly, last night a violent mob of at least 150 Zionists attacked nonviolent students and supporters at UCLA for hours, pulling individuals and beating them, spraying them with bear spray, and shooting several fireworks into the crowd with very little police response. They fractured students's skulls, and shattered wrists as they hurled racial slurs and called for a "second Nakba." This was a horrifying attack that should not be referred to as "clashes" by the media.

It is more important than ever to support student protestors. The level of state-sanctioned violence, lynch mobs, and biased reporting on it all draws direct parallels with the violence that occupied Palestinians face every single day. The occupation and genocide of Palestine would not be possible without U.S. backing. It is on all of us to do what we can to support liberation and the youth pressuring their universities to divest.

Reach out to your local student encampment or Students for Justice in Palestine group, follow them on social media, show up in person as a camper or legal observer, and/or ask them what donations they need either materially or financially.

Join us in standing in unwavering solidarity and support for the growing student movement in the face of repression. Our students have displayed incredible bravery in recent days and they need to know that they have community support and are not alone in their stand for truth and justice. We are committed to supporting and aiding students in their actions and demonstrations and encourage everyone in our base to commit to reaching out to their local student activists to do the same.
