Like you, I am deeply concerned with the United State’s unquestioning support for the unfolding genocide in Gaza. We’ve all struggled to find ways to help and to push back on this immoral and failed policy. I’m contacting you today because there is something you can do right now to oppose this policy and to make sure the Arab American vote is not taken for granted.
The fight to force the Biden administration to withdraw their unconditional support of Israel and enforce a permanent ceasefire is taking center stage in Michigan's presidential primary where Arab Americans can make up as much as 5% of the vote. The Listen to Michigan campaign, led by veteran Michigan organizers from the Arab American community is mobilizing all people of conscience to vote "Uncommitted" in the upcoming Feb 27 primary election. When voters choose “Uncommitted," they send a clear message to President Biden - you cannot win a general election without our community. This is where you come in. The Uncommitted campaign is breaking through and capturing the attention of the national political press, but attention alone has not, and will not, deliver the strategic intervention required for policy change. If ten thousand critical primary voters conditionally withhold their votes, we can signal widespread discontent within the Democratic Party about the President's financing of Israel's reckless war in Gaza and force a reckoning with this disastrous and genocidal policy.
We need the collective strength of Arab Americans and all people of conscience to deliver this message forcefully and urgently. Michigan’s presidential primary is only 8 days away, and early voting has already begun. This is a critical front in the fight to win a ceasefire and to protect our community’s voice.
